How we work with you

Our studio is in Blairgowrie – Johannesburg, and we request that clients make an appointment to meet with us. If the artworks are large pieces, we will be more than happy to meet you at your home, gallery or office. If you are not in the Johannesburg area, we request clients to e-mail us as many detailed photographs as possible of the artwork (we are able to provide a quote from photographs provided, however, a final quotation is submitted once we have received the work via courier or delivery and are able to assess the work in person).

Once we have examined the work, we provide a free, no-obligation written quotation, which includes:

  • Condition report – we detail the current condition of the artwork

  • Treatment required – we provide a step by step description of the exact restoration & conservation methods and processes which will be conducted on your artwork

  • Photographs – we include photographs of the work in its current condition, especially damaged areas

  • Price – we provide the cost for the restoration (please note that we are VAT registered, so our quotations include VAT)

We ask clients to sign the quotation and pay a 50% deposit before any restoration work commences. During the restoration period, which normally takes between 3-4 weeks, depending on the size of the artwork and reaction time of the chemicals, we also provide you with updates and photographs of the progress.

Once the restoration is complete, we will provide you with an invoice, which again details the treatment completed, and we provide you with before and after photographs of the artwork.

We request that all invoices are paid immediately upon delivery or collection of restored artworks.

Please note: Pricing for our restoration services are based on the severity of the damage and the complexity and time required for the restoration process. The value of the art has no effect on the project pricing.
